Painting with a truck
I have seen an idea floating around online lately about using cars as paintbrushes. I wanted to give it a try, but didn't want to use Elias' good cars (plus I think Peter would be a little sad if I used Hot Wheels for that), so I dug around and found a completely plastic happy meal truck that could be washed up easily.
We used an old piece of wood laminate that had been lying around since we bought the house. In hindsight, I think paper would have picked up the tire treads a little better, but hey, you live and learn.
Elias was intrigued but soon switched over to painting with his fingers. Eventually, I made him some flour/water paint because I thought the texture might be cool on the wood laminate.
It swirled in circles beautifully. One great thing about the wood laminate was that the paint just kind of sat on top and didn't dry as long as it was in motion, so Elias was able to constantly move the paint around into different patterns.
