Baby Shower Gifts - Chevron Quilt and Crocheted Whale
A few weeks ago, I was working on some special gifts for my sister-in-law who is having a baby boy in January. This is their first and we're so excited for them! I may be more excited about working on projects for her nursery than I am for my own. We have a shared Pinterest board where she has been pinning different things that she would love to have for the baby. One such pin was this quilt. I absolutely love the chevron pattern! I decided that I could easily make the quilt for her. I researched a few tutorials on how to make the chevron pattern (it's pretty easy ... just a bunch of triangles sewn together) and put it together in a few afternoons.
I was also going to crochet her a blanket to go with the quilt, but the pattern I was using just wasn't working well with the grey yarn I had already purchased. I happened across this crocheted whale tutorial and decided to give it a go. I should mention that her nursery theme is gray/white chevron with nautical pieces mixed in. Because I was using such chunky yarn, this baby turned out to be the size of a floor pillow, but I still love it!
